The Chichen Itza Mayan site in Yucatan

Posted 1 year ago by avatar jean in response to avatar ginzo's question: There was a story about the appearance of a serpent on the main temple of Chichen Itza in Yucatan...Somebody remember it? (give a different answer) .

it's not a story, but a fact. The El Castillo temple is positioned in such a way that during the spring and autumn equinox the late afternoon light creates the impression of a serpent that crawls along the 365 steps of the pyramid. The event lasts 34 minutes, the serpent reaches the head of Kulkulcan's statue (he was the leader of the town, later declared god) and then disappears into the earth.
